Thanks to the hybrid function, most of the products marked "SACD" in our store can also be played on conventional CD players. Die SACD "Harp Recital" umfasst fünf Hauptwerke der Harfenliteratur aus verschiedenen Epochen: Die Sonate in G-Dur von C. Ph. E. Bach markiert den Beginn der Sololiteratur für Harfe das Instrument wurde zuvor nur als Begleitinstrument mit exotischer Klangfarbe eingesetzt. An dieser Sonate hat sich auch Heinz Holliger orientiert, der u. a. die alten Satzbezeichnungen der Bachzeit aufgreift. Germaine Tailleferre gehörte zur "Groupe des Six" ihre Harfensonate hat neo-klassischen Charakter. Die "Deux Divertissements" von André Caplet sind im Stil der Zeit Charakterstücke "à la française" und "à l'espagnole" mit impressionistischen Zügen. Benjamin Brittens Suite von 1969 beschließt die Aufnahme mit einem technisch und musikalisch fulminanten Werk. Sarah O'Brien ist Soloharfenistin der Münchner Philharmoniker. Sie konzertiert als Solistin, Kammermusikpartnerin und Orchestermusikerin. Neben ihrer Position als Soloharfenistin ist sie Professorin am Mozarteum in Salzburg und der an Musikhochschule Basel. Sarah O'Brien gibt regelmäßig Meisterkurse und ist Jurymitglied bei verschiedenen Wettbewerben und Probespielen.
This SACD includes five major works of the harp literature from various periods. The Sonata in G major of C. P. E. Bach marks the beginning of solo literature for the harp until then, the instrument was only used as an accompanying instrument with an exotic timbre. Heinz Holliger also orientated himself on this sonata, taking up the old movement designations of Bach's time, among other things. Germaine Tailleferre belonged to the "Groupe des Six" her Harp Sonata has a neo-classical character. The "Deux Divertissements" of André Caplet are character pieces "à la française" and "à l'espagnole" in the style of the time with impressionistic traits. Benjamin Britten's Suite, written in 1969, concludes the recording with a technically and musically brilliant work. Sarah O'Brien is solo harpist of the Munich Philharmonic. She performs as soloist, chamber musician and orchestral musician. Alongside her position as solo harpist, she is a professor at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and the Music Academy in Basel. Sarah O'Brien regularly gives master courses and serves on juries at various competitions and auditions.

Die Soloharfenistin der Münchner Philharmoniker findet für die Literatur von der Klassik bis hin zur Moderne ihre eigene Note. Speziell aber bei der Musik der französischen Impressionisten, die das Farbspektrum der Harfe für sich entdeckt haben. (MDR Figaro)
