The SACD uses a higher digital resolution than the audio CD and also offers the possibility to store multi-channel sound (surround sound). To enjoy the music in high-end quality, a special SACD player is required. Thanks to the hybrid function, most of the products marked "SACD" in our store can also be played on conventional CD players. In this case, however, the sound does not differ from that of a normal CD. In case of deviations, we point this out separately (non-hybrid).

Schwedische Sinfonik
Im Rahmen seiner umfangreichen Beschäftigung mit skandinavischer Musik unternimmt CHANDOS auch eine Gesamteinspielung der Sinfonien von Kurt Atterberg (1887-1974). Neeme Järvi und das Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra legen in der zweiten Folge der Reihe neben der zweiten Sinfonie von 1911 auch dessen Achte von 1944 vor. Beide Werke folgen weitgehend den klassischen Formen, doch werden diese durch Harmonien und Melodien aus der schwedischen Volksmusik angereichert. Sie sind somit typische Werke Atterbergs, die man gerne häufiger im Konzertsaal hören würde, vor allem dann, wenn man die Werke von Sibelius schätzt.
