Der aus Durham in Nordengland stammende Komponist erweist sich als brillanter Komponist, und diese Konzerte (von denen angenommen wird, dass sie die frühesten Beispiele des in Großbritannien geschriebenen Cellokonzerts sind) sind denen von Händel zweifellos ebenbürtig.
Gespielt auf historischen Instrumenten von einem der führenden britischen Barockmusikensembles.
