Großartige Repertoire-Bereicherung

Die Serenade für Tenor, Horn und Streicher war für mich eine Entdeckung: mit der ungewöhnlichen Klangkombination Stimme-Horn und der sparsamen Streicherbegleitung gelingt Britten hier eine zutiefst berührende Musik. Die Interpretation begeistert vor allem durch den makellosen und unglaublich wandlungfähigen Ton von Dennis Brain. Die Klangqualität ist in Ordnung, wenn man den Aufnahmezeitpunkt (Beginn der 50er Jahre) bedenkt (leider nur mono). Dass das Booklet keinen der Liedtexte enthält, ist ein Manko, aber zu verschmerzen.
Fazit: unbedingt empfehlenswert!
