Pippa Funnell wurde 1968 in East Sussex, England, geboren. Bereits als Kind war sie verrückt nach Pferden und verbrachte jede freie Minute im Reitstall. Mit sechzehn Jahren verließ sie die Schule, um Profireiterin zu werden. Es folgte eine beispiellose Karriere als Vielseitigkeitsreiterin. Pippa Funnell gehörte zu den erfolgreichsten Reiterinnen der Gegenwart und ist fünffache Europameisterin sowie dreifache Medaillengewinnerin bei den Olympischen Spielen.
