Biografie
Michelle Harrison wurde 1979 in Grays, Essex geboren und verbrachte dort ihre Kindheit. Bereits in der Schule machte sie auf ihr literarisches und zeichnerisches Talent aufmerksam: Sie gewann einige Kunstpreise und einen Literaturpreis in ihrem Abschlussjahr. Mit 19 zog sie nach Staffordshire, um dort Illustration zu studieren. Dort kam sie auch zum ersten Mal mit den Werken von Künstlern wie Arthur Rackham, Alan Lee und Brian Froud in Berührung. Sie alle haben Michelles Illustrationsstil geprägt. Michelle Harrison war bereits als Buchhändlerin, Aufseherin in einer Galerie und als Kellnerin tätig. Zur Zeit arbeitet sie für die Oxford University Press als Redaktionsassistentin für Kinderbücher.
