Once upon a time, an evil king sought a powerful magical artifact - the Stone of GraVinn. His battle to steal the Stone's power ended as such stories are meant to end, with their mutual destruction. Long before even that, a nardin named Dorian dabbled in dark magic to feed his thirst for dominion. After much sacrifice, the people of EliSann defeated him and secured their safety. Kismarc has known these stories his entire life. Their conclusions are set in stone, ancient history, taken for granted by most of the EliSann community. Until a series of unwelcome revelations make it clear: neither the GraVinn nor Dorian is as gone as the people of EliSann thought. As Dorian's return tears the community apart, Kismarc struggles to keep his footing. As the half-human son of VerGann, the most powerful delpin alive, his life has never been conventional. Now, floundering through sudden bouts of irrational anger and missing time, the image that he has forged for himself threatens to crumble. He can't be a pawn in someone else's game. He can't allow himself to be used against those he cares about most. But without knowing exactly what's going on, how can he fight it?
