Biography (Jenny Erpenbeck)
Jenny Erpenbeck wurde 1967 in eine Berliner Schriftstellerdynastie geboren. Nach einer Buchbinderlehre und Tätigkeiten als Requisiteuse und Ankleiderin an der Staatsoper Berlin studierte sie in Berlin Theaterwissenschaften und Musiktheaterregie. Seit 1991 arbeitete sie zunächst als Regieassistentin und inszenierte danach Aufführungen für Oper und Musiktheater in Berlin und Graz. Jenny Erpenbeck lebt als freie Autorin und Regisseurin in der Nähe von Graz, wo sie im Frühjahr 2000 mit großem Erfolg ihr erstes Stück "Katzen haben sieben Leben" am Schauspielhaus inszenierte.§2008 wurde Jenny Erpenbeck mit dem "Solothurner Literaturpreis" für ihr "feinsinniges erzählerisches Werk" sowie dem Heimito von Doderer-Literaturpreis ausgezeichnet, 2009 wurde sie mit dem Preis der LiteraTour Nord geehrt.
