Biography
Gary Paulsen, geb. 1939, Kindheit bei der Großmutter im Norden Minnesotas. Elektrotechniker beim Militär, bis er als freier Schriftsteller zu arbeiten begann. Seine 'Geschichte eines Eskimojungen' gewann den Newbery-Preis (renommiertester Kinderliteraturpreis der USA). Weitere Newbery-Preise folgten, inzwischen ist Paulsen mit seinen z. T. in 18 Sprachen übersetzten Romanen und Erzählungen ein sehr erfolgreicher Kinder- und Jugendbuchautoren der USA.
