Biography (Alain Mabanckou)
Alain Mabanckou wurde 1966 in der Republik Kongo geboren. Mithilfe eines Förderstipendiums verlässt er 1989 seine Heimat, um in Paris sein Jurastudium fortzusetzen. Danach Eintritt in einen französischen Wirtschaftskonzern, für den er fast zehn Jahre lang als juristischer Berater tätig ist. Während dieser Zeit erscheinen zwei Lyrikbände und sein Debütroman. Weitere Romanveröffentlichungen folgen. Alain Mabanckou lebt abwechselnd in Paris und Los Angeles, wo er an der University of California französische Literaturwissenschaft lehrt.
