Denis Johnson, geboren 1949 in München als Sohn eines amerikanischen Offiziers, gilt nach einigen Romanen und einer legendären Short-Story-Sammlung als einer der wichtigsten Autoren der amerikanischen Gegenwart. 2007 erhielt Denis Johnson den National Book Award. Er lebt in Idaho/USA.
