Biografie
Amanda Gorman ist eine US-amerikanische Lyrikerin und Aktivistin. Sie wurde 1998 in Los Angeles geboren und setzt sich für soziale Gerechtigkeit, Gendergleichheit und gegen Rassismus und Unterdrückung ein. 2017 wurde sie zur ersten National Youth Poet Laureate der USA ernannt. Am 20. Januar 2021 trug sie bei der Amtseinführung des 46. Präsidenten der Vereinigsten Staaten von Amerika, Joseph R. Biden, als jüngste Inaugurationsdichterin in der Geschichte ihres Landes ihr Gedicht The Hill we climb - Den Hügel hinauf vor und wurde damit weltberühmt. Ihr erstes Kinderbuch Change Sings und ihr Gedichtband The Hill we climb and Other Poems - Den Hügel hinauf und andere Gedichte erscheinen im September 2021 im Hoffmann und Campe Verlag.
