Biografie (Esther Duflo)
Esther Duflo, geboren 1972 in Paris, studierte Ökonomie an der École Normale Supérieure in Paris und am Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), wo sie zusammen mit Abhijit V. Banerjee das Poverty Action Lab gründete, das ein weltweites Netz von Soziologen und Ökonomen koordiniert. Der Economist zählt Esther Duflo zu den acht aufstrebendsten Ökonomen, das Time Magazine führt sie als eine der 100 einflussreichsten Personen der Welt an. Duflo erhielt 2011 die John Bates Clark Medal, die nach dem Nobelpreis als wichtigste Ehrung für Wirtschaftswissenschaftler gilt.
