Biography
Ross Macdonald (1915 - 1983) zählt zu den besten amerikanischen Kriminalautoren des 20. Jahr- hunderts. Dabei verdankt er seine Karriere eher einem Zufall: Seine Frau Margaret war Schriftstellerin und verdiente mit Schreiben bald mehr als er mit seiner Dozentur. So wurde aus dem Dozenten Kenneth Millar in Michigan der Schriftsteller Ross Macdonald in Kalifornien. Seine Bücher sind Bestseller und wurden erfolgreich verfilmt. Ross Macdonald war Präsident der Mystery Writers of America. 1964 gewann er den Silver, 1965 den Gold Dagger Award.
