Biography
Jerzy Kosinski, 1933 in Polen als Józef Lewinkopf geboren, wurde von seinem Vater nach dem Überfall der Deutschen 1939 unter falschem Namen bei einer katholischen Familie versteckt. 1957 emigrierte er in die Vereinigten Staaten. Kosinski wurde mit zahlreichen Preisen ausgezeichnet, darunter der National Book Award. 1991 wählte er in New York den Freitod.
