"The Light Below" ist das dritte Album von Walking Papers. "What Did You Expect?", der erste Track des Albums, stammt aus der Feder der beiden Hauptakteure Jefferson Angell und Benjamin Anderson und stellt eine Fortsetzung des eindrucksvollen und kunstvollen Rock- und Bluessounds dar, den Walking Papers entwickelt haben.
Textlich fordert Angell jeden heraus, der sich selbst ein Loch gegraben hat oder der sich selbst im Weg stand. 'The Other Shoe (Reprise)' ist eine instrumentale Vervollständigung des Gedankens. Das in Seattle ansässige Bluesrock-Outfit wurde von der New York Times als "die beste Rockband in Seattle" bezeichnet und das britische Classic Rock Magazin wählte Walking Papers zu einer der Top-Bands des Jahres 2016.
