Nach dem Erfolg ihres 2017er Albums Relatives In Descent veröffentlicht die Detroiter Post-Punk Formation Protomartyr die Consolation EP mit vier neuen Tracks, die in Zusammenarbeit mit The Breeders Kelley Deal entstanden sind. Aufgenommen wurde die EP an nur einem Wochenende in Kentucky und wurde von Deals R.Ring Bandmate Mike Montgomery aufgenommen und neben rauen Gitarren ist auch ein Cello, eine Bratsche und eine Bassklarinette zu hören.
