Bandgründer Angus Andrew, der die vergangenen zwei Liars Alben mehr oder weniger im Alleingang einspielte, stellte sich für das zehnte Album »The Apple Drop« ein Top-Team zusammen: Aufgenommen mit Avantgarde-Jazz-Schlagzeuger Laurence Pike und Multi-Instrumentalisten Cameron Deyell in Australien, entstand so ein Sound, der die typischen Liars Strukturen (Drum-Gewitter und Noise-Einschübe inklusive) mit elektronischen Experimenten verbindet. Ergebnis ist das wohl spannendste und erfrischendste Liars Album bisher.
