Billy Sherwood: Citizen on CD

Für diese spezielle Veröffentlichung brachte Billy eine beeindruckende Liste von Gaststars zusammen auf welcher sich Chris Squire, Tony Kaye, Steve Hackett, Geoff Downes, Colin Moulding, Steve Morse, Jerry Goodman, Alan Parsons, Rick Wakeman, Patrick Moraz, Jon Davison, Jordan Rudess und John Wesley wiederfinden.

Billy Sherwood ist aktuelles Mitglied bei Yes, und wurde selbst von dem Gründungsmitglied Chris Squire ausgesucht, bevor er im Juni 2015 vorzeitig verstarb. Billy startete seine Karriere in der Band Lodgic und später bei World Trade, mit welchen er auch zwei Studioalben aufnahm. Er begleitete Yes das erste Mal als Tourmitglied 1994 auf der »Talk« Tour bevor er von 1997 bis 1999 ein Vollwertiges Mitglied wurde. Er nahm außerdem zwei Alben mit Chris Squire und dem »Conspiracy« Projekt auf und veröffentlichte sechs Album mit der Band Circa, welche er mit dem anderen Yes Gründer, Tony Kaye, gründete.

Billy Sherwood sagte selbst:
»For me the most special track on the record is the title track »The Citizen«, which sets the stage for the concept behind it all, on this track is the last recording of Chris Squire and he's larger than life on it! I recorded him not too long ago in a Holiday Inn when I went to visit with him just before he fell ill. Tony Kaye is playing hammond and keys on the track and sounds great as always!!! There are many sonic treats in the production and if you put yourself in the mind of the citizen... it's quite a journey!!«
