Alphaville-Fans aufgepasst: Die deutschen Popikonen veröffentlichen 2021 zwei erweiterte und remasterte Deluxe-Reissues ihrer Alben »Afternoons In Utopia« und »The Breathtaking Blue«.
Betreut von den Gründungsmitgliedern Marian Gold und Bernhard Lloyd ist dies das erste Mal, dass diese beiden Werke neu gemastert wurden.
»The Breathtaking Blue« ist das dritte Studioalbum von Alphaville. Es erschien ursprünglich 1989 und landete auf Platz 49 der deutschen Charts.
»The Breathtaking Blue« kommt als Set mit LP und DVD mit dem remasterten Originalalbum auf 180-g-Vinyl inklusive 24-seitigem Booklet mit vielen raren Fotos im Gatefold-Cover, dazu kommt der DVD-Film »The Breathtaking Blue – Songlines«. Die Doppel-CD inklusive DVD hält auf CD 1 das remasterte Album, auf CD 2 16 remasterte und neu abgemischte B-Seiten, 12ʺ-Mixe, Remixe von Albumtracks bereit, außerdem den DVD-Film »The Breathtaking Blue – Songlines«, der in hochwertiger Qualität neu digitalisiert wurde und bisher nicht außerhalb von Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz veröffentlicht wurde. Abgerundet wird diese Version von einem 20-seitigen Booklet.
