Drei Alben für Moribund Records als Box zusammengefasst. Der Name ist aus dem Simon-Necronomicon abgeleitet, wo Xastur einen weiblichen Dämon bezeichnet, der schlafende Männer tötet. Einziges Mitglied war Scott »Malefic« Conner, welcher schon unter anderem als Gastmusiker für Sunn O))) tätig war.
Auf den Produktionen von Xasthur wird er von verschiedenen Session-Musikern unterstützt. 2010 gab Conner bekannt, Xasthur nach dem letzten Album ›Portal Of Sorrow‹ aufzugeben. Seit 2015 ist Xasthur wieder aktiv.
Zu Conner stießen mit Christopher Hernandez und Rachel Roomian zwei weitere Musiker dazu. 2016 erschien mit ›Subject To Change‹ das Comeback-Album. Seit der Neugründung spielt Xasthur Neofolk.
