Wretched, ursprünglich als »And Since Forgotten« gegründet, entstand 2005 in Charlotte, North Carolina, und hat sich zu einer der respektiertesten Kräfte der technischen Death-Metal- Szene entwickelt. Nach ihrer Unterzeichnung bei Victory Records im Jahr 2008 etablierte die Band ihren Ruf mit vier gefeierten Alben: The Exodus Of Autonomy (2009), Beyond the Gate (2010), Son Of Perdition (2012) und Cannibal (2014).
Nach einer tourbedingten Auszeit kehrte Wretched 2023 triumphant unter Metal Blade Records zurück. Ihr fünftes Album »Decay« markiert nicht nur eine künstlerische Wiedergeburt, sondern auch ein konzeptionelles Meisterwerk, das als Prequel zu Beyond The Gate fungiert und die Band in neue kreative Dimensionen führt.
