Auf seinem Label Aus hat der DJ und Elektronik-Produzent Will Saul mit »Inside Out« eine neue Serie gestartet. Sie hat das konzeptionelle Ziel, die Grenzen eines herkömmlichen Künstleralbums und einer gemixten Kompilation einzureißen. Dafür lädt er Produzenten, DJs und Labelmacher ein, ganz persönliche Showcases anzufertigen. In diese darf einfließen, was gefällt, das heißt Eigenes und Fremdes. Einzige Bedingung: Das Material muss neu und bislang unveröffentlicht sein. Entsprechend kann die Zusammenstellung eine Werbung für die eigenen Mix-Künste, Produktionsfertigkeiten oder das Labelportfolio sein.
Für seine Werkschau griff Saul auf Tracks von Kollegen zurück, mit denen er in herzlicher Freundschaft verbunden ist, und die im Lauf der letzten Jahre auf einem seiner Labels veröffentlicht haben. Insofern wirbt Saul mit seiner Tracklist für »Inside Out« an sich. Das klappt auch ausgesprochen gut – Lone, Pearson Sound, Move D, Gerd, Youandewan, Martyn, Falty DL, Dauwd, Appleblim und Marquis Hawkes sind außerordentlich überzeugende Leumunde.
