Vanessa Carlton veröffentlicht ihr neues Album »Liberman«. Es ist das fünfte Album der mittlerweile in Nashville beheimateten, Grammy-nominierten Musikerin.
Bereits kurz nach der Tour zu »Rabbits On The Run« begann Vanessa Carlton an ihrem neuen, fünften Studioalbum zu arbeiten. Carltons Inspirationsquellen waren Bücher wie »The Power Of Myth« von Joseph Campbell und »Die Pforten der Wahrnehmung« von Aldous Huxley. Ein weiterer wichtiger Einfluss war ein Gemälde ihres Großvaters, Alan J. Lee, der ursprünglich Liberman hieß und dem Album seinen Namen gab.
»It's a calm record«, so Carlton. »This album leans toward seeing the good in humans and in the world.« Produziert wurde »Liberman« von Steve Osborne und Adam Landry in England und Nashville. John McCauley von Deer Tick steuerte auf einigen Songs des Albums einige Instrumente bei.
