Ein Wiedersehen nach 40 Jahren

Es war ein Wiedersehen der ganz besonderen Art. Bereits vor gut 40 Jahren trat Gitarrenvirtuose Uli Jon Roth in der Nakano Sun Plaza Hall in Tokio auf, damals noch mit den Scorpions. Dort nahm die Band das berühmte Livealbum »Tokyo Tapes« auf. Letztes Jahr kehrte er an diesen besonderen Ort zurück. Mit »Tokyo Tapes Revisited – Live In Japan« gibt es jetzt den Mitschnitt des denkwürdigen Konzertes, und zwar in Bild und Ton.

Insgesamt 2½ Stunden dauerte das Konzert am 20. Februar 2015, bei dem Roth seine frühe Arbeit mit den Scorpions zelebrierte und einige ihrer größten Hits zum Besten gab. Mit dabei waren unter anderem »The Sails Of Charon«, »Kojo No Tsuki«, »Fly To The Rainbow«, »We’ll Burn The Sky« und der Bob-Dylan-Klassiker »All Along The Watchtower«.

Insgesamt 19 Songs warten auf »Tokyo Tapes Revisited – Live In Japan«, und zwar als Konzertfilm auf DVD bzw. Blu-ray inklusive Livealbum auf zwei CDs.

Unterstützt wurde Uli Jon Roth in Japan von ein paar alten Bekannten: Inglorious-Sänger Nathan James, Schlagzeuger Jamie Little, Bassist Ule W. Ritgen, die Gitarristen Niklas Turmann, David Klosinski und Keyboarder Corvin Bahn standen mit ihm auf der Bühne.

Uli Jon Roth zurück in Japan: »Tokyo Tapes Revisited – Live In Japan« zeigt, dass die deutsche Gitarrenlegende noch mindestens genauso rockt, wie vor 40 Jahren.
