Filmmusik bedeutet für die Tindersticks kein neues Terrain. Im Gegenteil: Bereits mehrere Soundtracks gehen auf ihr Konto und auch ansonsten lässt die britische Band auf ihren Alben immer wieder gerne ihre Vorliebe für Film oder Literatur durchblicken.
Für ihr neues Projekt »Minute Bodies«, ging die Band im letzten Jahr sogar noch einen Schritt weiter.

Nur ein Jahr nach ihrem neuen Album »The Waiting Room« melden sich Tindersticks 2017 mit einer weiteren ganz besonderen Veröffentlichung zurück. »Minute Bodies« heißt das neue medienübergreifende Projekt der britischen Rockband.
Genauer genommen handelt es sich bei »Minute Bodies – The Intimate World Of F. Percy Smith« um eine filmische und musikalische Hommage an den Naturfilmer F. Percy Smith, der als Pionier auf seinem Gebiet gilt. Tindersticks-Frontmann Stuart A. Staples führte dabei erstmals Regie und übernahm zudem die musikalische Leitung des Projektes.
Unterstützung erhielt die Band in ihrem französischen Studio von den Musikern Thomas Belhom (Percussion), Christine Ott (Ondes Martenot und Piano), David Coulter (Musiksäge und Nasenflöte) und Julian Siegel (Saxofon).
Das Ergebnis ist eine rund 55-minütige Collage aus dem originalen Filmmaterial aus den 1920er-Jahren und den Kompositionen der Tindersticks. »Minute Bodies« ist als Set aus CD und DVD sowie als limitierte Deluxe-Edition mit Doppel-LP plus DVD erhältlich.
Historisches Filmmaterial trifft auf einen modernen Score: Mit »Minute Bodies« haben Tindersticks 2017 ein einzigartiges und hochinteressantes filmmusikalisches Projekt kreiert.
