"The Flat Earth" ist das zweite Studioalbum des englischen New-Wave- und Synth-Pop-Musikers Thomas Dolby. Es wurde am 10. Februar 1984 veröffentlicht und erreichte Platz 14 der britischen Albumcharts. Die erste Singleauskopplung aus dem Album war ""Hyperactive!"", die auf Platz 17 der UK Singles Chart landete. Das Album erreichte Platz 35 in den US Billboard Hot 100 Charts.
Das Album hat auch 40 Jahre nach seiner Veröffentlichung nichts von seiner Aktualität eingebüßt. Die knackige Produktion, das brillante Songwriting von Thomas Dolby und ein fantastisches Ensemble von Begleitmusikern machen dieses Album zu einem Klassiker seiner Art.
