The Heat Is On / Harvest For The World

To enjoy the music in high-end quality, a special SACD player is required. Thanks to the hybrid function, most of the products marked "SACD" in our store can also be played on conventional CD players. In this case, however, the sound does not differ from that of a normal CD. In case of deviations, we point this out separately (non-hybrid).

Die Geschichte von The Isley Brothers, die von Ende der Sechziger- bis Anfang der Achtzigerjahre regelmäßig an der Spitze der amerikanischen R & B Charts standen, reicht weit zurück. Die vier Brüder O’Kelly, Rudolph, Ronald und Vernon Isley gründeten in den Fünfzigerjahren in Cincinnati, Ohio, ein Gospel-Quartett. Nach dem tragischen Unfalltod Vernons und einer angemessenen Pause zog das verbliebene Trio nach New York. Die anfangs wechselvolle Karriere führte über verschiedene Labels zu Motown Records und schließlich zur eigenen Produktion T-Neck. Hier erschien 1975 ihr erster Nr. 1-Erfolg in der US-Pop-Hitparade: „The Heat Is On“.
