30th Anniversary Edition des legendären Debüt-Albums holländischen 'Pionier'-Metalband. Das Original von 1992 vermischte Doom mit Death Metal mit markanten 'atmosphärischen' Keyboard-Parts und 'engelsgleichem' Frauengesang (im Kontrast zu aggressivem männlichem Growling).
The Gathering begründeten eine neue (progressive) Gothic-/Female-Fronted-Metal-Szene, mit Bands wie Within Temptation, After Forever, Nightwish, Lacuna Coil, Evanescence, u. v.a.!
Für diesen Release wurden die Original Album-Tracks von Guido Aalbers und der Band von den originalen Studiotapes neu abgemischt. Für das Remastering zeichnet Maor Applebaum (YES, Faith No More, Guns 'N Roses) verantwortlich. Zur Abrundung gibt es noch ein überarbeitetes Frontcover welches das Original als Gemälde von Richard Schouten (Acrostichon, Wolves In The Throne Room, Acid King, Master) zeigt.
