Diese umfangreiche Sammlung enthält fünf LPs: das Originalalbum als Doppel-LP sowie drei zusätzliche Platten mit B-Seiten und Bonustracks, unveröffentlichten Outtakes, alternativen Versionen und Meloys Solo-Acoustic-Demos.
Auf LP 4 & 5 finden sich Demos von fast jedem Song auf The Crane Wife, einschließlich dem Dreiteiler »The Crane Wife«, hier als eine zusammenhängende Komposition in der ursprünglichen Reihenfolge. Außerdem enthält das Set eine Blu-ray mit einem zweistündigen Konzertfilm, der 2006 im berühmten 9: 30 Club in Washington, D. C. für den zweiten NPR-Webcast aufgenommen wurde (bis dato noch nicht kommerziell erschienen).
In einem 20-seitigen Booklet befinden sich Begleittexte von Rockhistoriker David Fricke, der auch schon lange für den Rolling Stone schreibt, und ein Essay von dem selbsterklärten Decemberists-Fan Lin-Manuel Miranda – selbst ein preisgekrönter Komponist, Texter, Autor und Schauspieler, dem die Welt das mit einem Tony und Pulitzer Preis ausgezeichnete Theaterstück »Hamilton« zu verdanken hat.
