Keine andere weibliche Stimme prägte das Genre des Symphonic Metal mehr als Tarja Turunen. Als Pionierin des Gothic- und Symphonic-Metals schoss Tarja mit ihrer Band Nightwish zu Ruhm und Ehren. Im Anschluss begann sie ihre
Solo-Karriere und veröffentlichte bis dato drei sehr erfolgreiche Studioalben, die in zahlreichen Ländern mit Gold oder Platin ausgezeichnet wurden.
»Beauty & The Beat« lässt sich nicht mit einer typischen Rockshow vergleichen, auch nicht mit einem üblichen Klassikkonzert. Ganz im Gegenteil, »Beauty & The Beat« steht für eine außergewöhnlich performte, breite Auswahl aus klassischen Musikstücken sowie Rocksongs: Alles gemeinsam von Tarja, dem Drummer Mike
Terrana, einem über 50-köpfigen Orchester sowie Chor interpretiert. Die Musikstücke reichen von Bach, Mozart, über Rossini hin zu Queen, Led Zeppelin und Tarjas eigenen Werken.
Ursprünglich als ein einmaliges Event geplant, stieß die Show bei Fans und Kritikern auf große Begeisterung, so dass man 2013 auf Welt-Tour ging.
Tarja und Mike ergänzen sich musikalisch perfekt. Während Terrana wie ein Wahnsinniger auf sein Drumkit eindrescht, verzaubert Tarja mit ihrer glasklaren Stimme und ihrer Bühnenpräsenz. Gemeinsam mit dem warmen, vollen Sound des Orchesters und Chors ist »Beauty & The Beat« ein echtes Highlight!
