»The Slow Rush« heißt der mittlerweile vierte Longplayer der australischen Band, der mit Spannung erwartete Nachfolger von »Currents« aus dem Jahr 2015, das in ihrer Heimat auf Platz eins, in den USA auf der Vier und im UK auf der Drei landete.
Zwölf Songs haben Tame Impala für die Platte aufgenommen. Die beiden Singleauskopplungen »Borderline« und »It Might Be Time« zeigen, dass die Band weiter auf ihren unverwechselbaren Mix aus Indie- und Psychedelic-Retro-Rock mit elektronischen Elementen und Hang zum Pop setzt.
