Die englische Shoegaze-Band Slowdive wurde 1989 gegründet und bestand
hauptsächlich aus Nick Chaplin (Bass), Rachel Goswell (Gesang, Gitarre), Christian Savill (Gitarre), Simon Scott (Schlagzeug) und dem Haupt-Songwriter der Band, Neil Halstead (Gesang, Gitarre).
„Holding Our Breath“ ist zweifellos Slowdive's stärkste EP, auf der einige ihrer besten Aufnahmen aus der Zeit vor der „Souvlaki“-Zeit zu hören sind, darunter "Catch The Breeze", "Shine" und ihr Cover von Syd Barrett's "Golden Hair". Das Finale ist "Albatross", welches düster und eindringlich einen Kontrast zum Rest der EP schafft, die eher verträumt und fließend ist.
Erhältlich in limitierter Sonderauflage von 4.000 nummerierten LPs auf Flaming Vinyl inklusive Druckbeileger mit Abbildung des Slowdive Kataloges.
The English shoegaze band Slowdive formed in 1989 and primarily consisted of Nick Chaplin (bass), Rachel Goswell (vocals, guitar), Christian Savill (guitar), Simon Scott (drums) and the band's primary songwriter Neil Halstead (vocals, guitar). »Holding Our Breath« is undoubtedly Slowdive's best EP, featuring some of their best pre-Souvlaki recordings including »Catch The Breeze«, »Shine« and their cover of Syd Barrett's »Golden Hair«. The finale is »Albatross«. This uses atmospherics in a dark and haunting way, which contrasts the rest of the EP which is dreamy and floaty.
