79.5 ist eine angesagte Band aus dem New Yorker Untergrund. Ihr Debütalbum »Predictions« erscheint auf Big Crown Records, wurde vom Big-Crown-Mitbegründer Leon Michels (Lee Fields, Lana Del Rey, The Arcs) produziert und im »Diamond Mine« Studio in Queens im klassischen Stil live auf Band aufgenommen.
Angeführt wird das Ensemble von drei Leadsängerinnen, die von einer Band unterstützt werden, deren Einflüsse einen ganzen Plattenladen abdecken. 79.5 haben ihren einzigartigen und ansteckenden Sound inzwischen durch viele Konzerte seit ihrer »Terrorize My Heart« Single aus dem Jahr 2016 in New York und als Vorband bei der US-Tour von Chicano Batman zuletzt perfektioniert. Die Single wurde zu einem festen Bestandteil der Sets von DJs wie Gilles Peterson, Q Tip, Kenny Dope, DJ Spinna oder Just Blaze.
Das Album enthält großartige Songs mit Einflüssen von R&B, Funk, Disco und Jazz mit bestechenden Pop-Qualitäten.
