Gemeinsam mit den Houston, Texas Jazz-Funk Veteranen »The Crusaders« wurde sie weltbekannt mit der berühmten Hitsingle »Street Life«, dem Titeltrack von deren 1979er Album. Die in Macon, Georgia, geborene Sängerin Randy Crawford veröffentlichte ihre 9. Soloalbum »Rich and Poor« auf Warner Bros. i m Jahr 1989. Es besteht aus einem angenehmen Mix aus Jazz, Funk, Blues & aktuellem R&B. Die Scheibe enthält eine überragende Version von Bob Dylans »Knocking On Heaven’s Door« mit Gastauftritten von David Sanborn am Altsaxophon und Eric Clapton an der Gitarre.
