Ein Meilenstein der 90er feiert 25-jähriges Jubiläum: R. E.M. s »Automatic For The People« mit den Singles »Everybody Hurts«, »Nightswimming« und »Man On The Moon«.
Das remasterte Album erscheint in unterschiedlichen Formaten. Das umfangreichste davon ist die Deluxe-Anniversary-Edition, für die das komplette Album (und der Bonustrack »Photograph« mit Natalie Merchant) von seinem ursprünglichen Produzenten Scott Litt und dem Engineer Clif Norrell in Dolby Atmos abgemischt wurde. Diese Technologie ist ein riesiger Fortschritt vom bekannten Surround Sound: Mit seinem weiten und fließenden Klang taucht der Hörer viel tiefer ein, als das mit Stereo möglich wäre. Der mehrdimensionale Sound nimmt den Hörer mit in das Tonstudio und erinnert an eine Zeit, als das Musikhören ein aktives und starkes Erlebnis war, das einen möglicherweise verändern konnte.
