»The Division Bell« war ursprünglich 1994 erschienen. Es handelt sich dabei um das 14. Studiowerk von Pink Floyd und gleichzeitig das letzte Album bis 2014.
Die Songs des Albums hatte die Band in verschiedenen Studios aufgenommen, darunter die legendären Abbey Road Studios in London und David Gilmours Hausboot The Astoria. Die meisten Lieder von »The Division Bell« stammen aus der Feder von David Gilmour und Richard Wright, der zwei Jahre zuvor zur Band zurückgekehrt war.
