Das Peace Flag Ensemble ist ein Free Jazz-Kollektiv aus Saskatchewan, Kanada. Ihre zweite LP, Astral Plains, erscheint im Juli 2023 über We Are Busy Bodies.
Während das 2021 erschienene Debüt »Noteland« der Gruppe mit Keith Jarrett in einen "Tank mit sensorischem Entzug gesteckt zu werden" beschrieben wurde, was an sich kein kein schlechtes Szenario muss. Im Gegensatz dazu öffnet sich Astral Plains und bietet weitläufige und himmlische Arrangements und Produktion. Vielleicht ist es eher so, als würde man mit Mark Hollis auf einem Präriefeld liegen und nach Tieren in den Wolken suchen.
