The Blu-Ray was developed as a high-definition successor to the DVD and offers a significantly increased data rate and storage capacity compared to its predecessor. Blu-Rays can therefore store movies with significantly better resolution and offer enormously high picture quality on corresponding screens. Blu-Ray players are usually backward compatible with DVDs, so that they can also be played.

Fast schon legendär sind André Rieus opulente Konzerte, die er jedes Jahr mit seinem Johann Strauß Orchester in Maastricht gibt. Dieses Jahr hatte er einen besonderen Gast: David Hasselhoff, der neben »Love Me Tender« und »Paloma Blanca« natürlich auch seinen Hit »Looking For Freedom« zum Besten gab.
Die aufwändige Inszenierung von »Magisches Maastricht« ist absolut sehenswert, gerade wenn man nicht selbst dabei war. Die DVD und BluRay enthalten 30 Titel mit einer Gesamtlänge von ca. 134 Minuten.
Das diesjährige Konzert hatte außerdem einen ganz besonderen Anlass: Das 30-jährige Jubiläum des Johann Strauß Orchesters.
