Das im Herbst 1977 veröffentlichte "L. A.M. F." war sofort umstritten. Vierzig Jahre später, in der Lower East Side von New York, leitete der ursprüngliche und einzige überlebende Heartbreaker Walter Lure drei Aufführungen. Er lud Freunde ein, mit ihm zu feiern, und das taten sie auch. Clem Burke von Blondie, Tommy Stinson von den Replacements, Tommy Stinson von Guns & Roses und Wayne Kramer von MC5 spielten gemeinsam mit Walter das gesamte Album.
