Petaluma, Bay Area. Im sonnigen Kalifornien gründeten vier Punkrocker eine Band, die alles andere als sonnig sein sollte: An Halloween 2003 wurde LOVE EQUALS DEATH geboren, eine Mischung aus typischem 90er-Skatepunk und Horrorpunk im Stil der MISFITS.
Ihr 2006 erschienenes Album NIGHTMERICA wurde auf FAT WRECK CHORDS veröffentlicht und brachte die Band auf Tour mit Namen wie TSOL, AVENGED SEVENFOLD, TIGER ARMY, NO USE FOR A NAME, DISTILLERS und natürlich AFI. Zu den Gründungsmitgliedern von LOVE EQUALS DEATH gehörten DOMINIC DAVI von TSUNAMI BOMB und NICK 13 von TIGER ARMY. Ihr Ansatz namens „Deathpunk“ blieb einzigartig und kehrte schließlich 2020 zurück, als die Band beschloss, auf einer Split-EP mit THE STATIC AGE wieder zum Leben zu erwachen.
