Der Film erweckt die damalige Zeit nochmal zum Leben und versucht dabei, die Relevanz der Musik und ihrer Botschaften an das damalige Publikum zu verdeutlichen. Der Film untersucht, wie Kunst, Aktivismus, Politik und Musik miteinander verflochten sind. Dabei gab es volle Unterstützung und exklusiven Zugang zu Yoko Ono und zum John Lennon Estate.
Die 90-minütige Dokumentation enthält bis dato ungesehenes Filmmaterial von John und Yoko, neue Interviews wie auch altes, aufbereitetes Interviewmaterial mit George Harrison, Phil Spector and David Bailey, Julian Lennon, Klaus Voormann, Jim Keltner, Alan White, Jack Douglas, Dan Richter, Tariq Ali und Elliot Mintz.
