Laurie Styvers stammt ursprünglich aus Texas und studierte Ende der 60er Jahre in London, wo sie die Alben »Spilt Milk« (1971) und »The Colorado Kid« (1973) aufnahm.
Sie ist eine begabte Songschreiberin mit einer bezaubernden Stimme, die an Carole King oder Judee Sill erinnert, zauberte Styvers Ende der 60er / Anfang der 70er Jahre großartigen britischen Pop. Styvers zog dann nach Colorado und verließ die Musikszene, wo sie 1998 verstarb. »Gemini Girl: The Complete Hush Recordings« wird diese rätselhafte und unbesungene Künstlerin mit viel bisher unveröffentlichtem Material neu gewürdigt.
