Klaus Dinger, sein Bruder Thomas (plus Hans Lampe / Perkussion & Effekte) hatten ja schon einiges an Erfahrung hinter sich (Kraftwerk, Neu!) bevor La Düsseldorf gegründet wurde. Sie haben sich nicht kopiert, ihre Vorgängerbands nicht kopiert, aber sie hatten immer das im Gepäck. Natürlich ist La Düsseldorf vielleicht eher Pop wie Neu!, aber der Sound kommt mit viel Geschmack, einem Schuss Ironie und sehr individuell rüber.
Die Musik von Neu! (mit Klaus Dinger) und La Düsseldorf übte u. a. großen Einfluss auf die Musik von Brian Eno und David Bowie aus. Bowie bezeichnete La Düsseldorf sogar als »The Soundtrack of the Eighties«. Nun gibt es auch ›Individuellos‹, das dritte Album der Band, nach langer Zeit wieder auf Vinyl. Parallel erscheint auch das 4te Album der Band ›Mon Amour‹.
