Sie führte das Folk-Revival mit bewegenden, ehrlichen und oft neu definierenden Versionen alter Songs an. Sie war eine enge Freundin von Bob Dylan, eine Nonkonformistin und Aktivistin. Joan Baez ist eine integre freiheitsliebende Frau, die viel dafür tat, um die Hippie-Bewegung zu inspirieren.
