Vier Jahre sind vergangen, seit Jehnny Beth das letzte Album mit ihrer Post-Punk-Band Savages veröffentlichte, das von der Kritik gefeiert wurde. 2020 meldet sich die französische Sängerin nun mit ihrem ersten Soloalbum zurück aus dem Studio.»To Love Is To Live« heißt die Platte, die sie gemeinsam mit ihrem Duo-Partner Johnny Hostile (John & Jehn) als Produzent sowie den Produzenten Atticus Ross (Nine Inch Nails) und Flood (New Order, U2, Depeche Mode, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds) aufnahm.
Elf Songs haben es schließlich auf »To Love Is To Live« geschafft, darunter auch die beiden düster-aggressiven Singles »I‘m The Man« und »Flower«.
Gastauftritte gibt es auf dem Album von Romy Madley Croft (The xx), Joe Talbot (Idles) und Schauspieler Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders).
