Das Debüt Album von Ice-T, dem East Coast-Rapper, der in dem Film »Breakdance« für Furore gesorgt hatte. Es wurde in den USA mit Platin ausgezeichnet und war der erste Schritt in Richtung Hardcore-Rap, den er auf Alben wie »Body Count« weiter vorantreiben sollte. Songs wie »Sex« oder »409« (in dem alle Kraftausdrücke durch lautes Pfeifen ersetzt werden!) überzeugten durchaus, die Songs bestehen noch überwiegend aus Puren Beats mit minimalistischen Synthi-Samples oder Scratches. Die Lyrics zeigen einen Ice-T, der sich noch nicht so richtig traut, von Kraftausdrücken Gebrauch zu machen, ansonsten aber auch hier bereits die gewohnten Ghetto-Stories.
