Das vierfache Grammy-Preisträger-Duo aus Australien meldet sich 2022 mit neuer Musik für eine aktualisierte Version seines Weihnachtsalbums zurück.
Das Album basiert auf einem Konzept, das in der Anfangszeit der Band entstand, als die Proben für eine Weihnachtstournee die musikalische Fantasie von Joel und Luke Smallbone beflügelten. »A Drummer Boy Christmas« wurde vom Grammy-Gewinner und Produzenten Aqualung (Matt Hales) produziert und von Davide Rossi (Coldplay) orchestral arrangiert. Das Album umfasst 13 Tracks darunter die zwei originalen Weihnachtslieder mit dem Titel »Heavenly Hosts« und die emotional bewegende Ballade »A Carol of Joseph« aus der Sicht von Joseph.
»A Drummer Boy Christmas« wurde von Tedd T. und For King & Country produziert und von Benjamin Backus mitproduziert. Für die neue Version wurde der Bonustrack »Do You Hear What I Hear« hinzugefügt.
