»Rock Of The Westies« ist das zehnte Studioalbum Elton Johns. Es erschien ursprünglich am 24. Oktober 1975.
In den USA stieg die Platte direkt auf Platz eins der Charts ein. In Johns Heimat Großbritannien erreichte es hingegen nur Platz fünf.
Dafür schaffte es dort allerdings die Single »Island Girl« bis an die Spitze. Als zweite Single wurde »Grow Some Funk of Your Own / I Feel Like a Bullet (In the Gun of Robert Ford)« ausgekoppelt.
Für das Vinylreissue wurde das Album 2017 von den analogen Originalbändern durch Bob Ludwig (Gateway Mastering) remastert und von Sean Magee in den Abbey Road Studios geschnitten.
Ein Klassiker komplett neu gemastert wieder auf Vinyl: Elton Johns zehntes Album »Rock Of The Westies«.
Neben »Rock Of The Westies« werden 2017 auch die Alben »Tumbleweed Connection«, »Honky Château«, »Caribou«, »Don’t Shoot Me I’m Only The Piano Player«, »Blue Moves«, »The Big Picture« und »Empty Sky« auf Vinyl neu aufgelegt.
