Elmore James wurde in Richland, Mississippi im Jahr 1918 geboren. Seine ersten Aufnahmen stammen aus dem Jahr 1951 und nur 11 Jahre später verstarb dieser grandiose Musiker. Eigentlich viel zu kurz dauerte seine Karriere, und dennoch war sein Einfluss auf die Musikgeschichte enorm. Viele Gitarristen orientierten sich an seinem Stil, Silde-Gitarre zu spielen. Dazu gehörten unter anderem Fleetwood Macs Jeremy Spencer, der seinen kompletten Sound & Stil dem anpasste, was er von James kannte.
